Job Description Summary
The Advanced Programs Systems Engineering and flight test team is responsible for the design, development, vehicle integration, and testing of military and derivative commercial gas turbines, integrated propulsion, power, and thermal management systems, as well as leading breakthrough military technology programs.
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Staff Engineer for the Advanced Programs Systems Engineering team will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, particularly as related to multiple advanced programs for future military aircraft systems. In this role you will assist with engine integration studies, technology demonstrator tests, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage scope, schedules, coordination, and execution of advanced programs
- Coordinate with customer on technical and installation requirements
- Manage interface control documents with the customer.
- Lead cross functional teams in the execution of programs
- Lead and provide key technical direction on projects with critical business impact
- Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
- Respond to request for proposals and request for information from external customers
- Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers
- Communicate with management on technical, financial and programmatic issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited university or college
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and/or technical program management role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Secret Clearance
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of engine qualification procedures and requirements
- Experience working with DoD customer and processes
- Experience working early engine development and integration programs
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
- Experience with the DoD acquisition process
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working with and presenting to customers
- Existing DoD Security Secret Clearance
