Treasury Manager

Bucharest, Romania

Join the internationally recognized award-winning team of Garrett Advancing Motion Treasury. Within the role, you will manage all treasury aspects and implementation including cash management, investments, trade finance, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and financing in all region/countries under your supervision. You will work closely with both internal (i.e. Country Controllers, FT organization, M&A due diligence and integration teams, Tax, Legal, auditors, payroll as well as local finance people of acquired companies) and external stakeholders (e.g. banks, other service providers, M&A lawyers, auditors and peers).

As Treasury Manager Operations you will be responsible for cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange management, process enhancements and systems development. Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer you will support the company's strategic financial objectives by ensuring optimal treasury operations and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day cash management process, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs. Act as back-up when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the cash management process and implement best practices
  • Prepare regular cash position reports, analyse cash transactions and provide insights on cash flow trends
  • Build, maintain and enhance the bi-weekly short-term cash forecast process
  • Analyse variances between forecasted and actual cash flows
  • Seek, evaluate and propose value enhancing investment products & strategies. Proactively invest excess funds to optimize the return on assets
  • Analyse investment performance, track allocations and maintain compliance with policy guidelines
  • Enhance current cash concentration structures and disbursement processes
  • Oversee and manage intercompany cash pool and loans, ensure accurate tracking and timely settlements. Collaborate closely with Accounting to reconcile balances and transactions. Perform transfer pricing analysis and reporting.
  • Support the incumbent owner of back-office operations with ensuring settlements, netting, reconciliations and confirmations are performed accurately and expediently.
  • Support the execution of the company's hedging strategies by analysing results and structuring trades to hedge FX and interest rate risks

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with Banking partners to leverage services, negotiate fees, and stay updated on industry best practices and trend
  • Ensure KYC documentation requests are completed timely and accurately
  • Analyse Bank service levels and wallet allocations
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders like finance teams, procurement departments, and business units to implement functional and company-wide initiatives
  • Participate in or lead projects related to cash management, Banking transitions and system implementations
  • Assist with the quarterly risk management analysis, monitoring and reporting process
  • Prepare and present presentation decks to leadership upon request
  • Manage and mentor a team of treasury professionals based in different geographic locations
  • Enforce and maintain compliance with the Treasury policy and control framework

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in treasury management, with a track record of handling global treasury operations
  • Knowledge of international financial markets and risks
  • Solid knowledge of financial instruments, risk management techniques, and international financial markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, adapting to changing business requirements
