Senior System validation Engineer

Épinal, France

We have an exciting new opening for a Validation Engineer for our E-Powertrain Products. You'll be given the opportunity to develop next-generation products and technologies for the automotive industry.

As an individual contributor in the Electrification Center of Excellence and responding to the Validation Engineering Manager, the E-Powertrain Validation Engineer drive and support the following activities:

  • Work closely with the design team to understand product requirements.
  • Analyze customer testing requirements.
  • Write the validation plan with its test scenarios in accordance with the stages of the V cycle,
  • - Specify the hardware and communication interfaces to control ECUs
  • - Develop validation plans, test definition and performing testing for hardware and software integration such as acceptance testing
  • - Develop control software in LabVIEW, CANoe or CANape to command motor controller
  • - Update solution based on requirement/feedback / issues
  • - Develop test environments and test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems
  • - Build automated testing systems for regular checks
  • - Troubleshoot and debug issues with test equipment.
  • - Document technical issues and solutions
  • Analyze testing results, generate testing reports and review them with stakeholders.
  • Be the primary technical point of contact for customer testing and issues.
  • Support the development of product DFMEAs
  • Support the realization and the implementation of the means of validation and "long term" tests in the environment as close as possible to the customer's operation,
  • Ensures the support of the quality department, in the phase of exploitation of the products.

Studies, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering.
  • Several years of experience in validation engineering which includes electrical hardware and software testing.
  • Additional experience in an engineering test environment is always beneficial
  • Product launch experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the design and validation of electric powertrain test equipment.
  • Full understanding of system level powertrain DV and PV testing
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • - Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, Flex ray)
  • - knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, CAPL, etc.
  • - Use of calibration, diagnostic and measurement tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, CANape. Practical problem-solving approach.
  • - High-speed oscilloscope, power analyzers, and measurement devices
  • - High-speed signal generators

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Previous experience with traction drive motors and inverters.
  • Previous experience with e-powertrain applications.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering.
  • ISO 26262 Functional safety
  • LV-123 / VDA-320 Automotive high voltage / 48V
  • ISO 16750 / LV-124 Electrical component validation
