The cloud platform architect is responsible for designing and managing cloud-based solutions for the company across all business functions (RDE, ISC, FIN, GBE, IT, etc...). The role owns the building, defining, and overseeing the cloud systems implementation, including servers, storage, security, and network on cloud infrastructure. Cloud architecture refers to how various cloud technology components, such as virtual resources, software capabilities, and virtual network systems interact and connect to create cloud computing environments. It acts as a blueprint that defines the best way to strategically combine resources to build a cloud environment for a specific business need1. Cloud architecture components include:You will also develop architecture for cloud-ready applications that meet the standards of the company. Key responsibilities :-
Strategy & Roadmap
-Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Garretts overall future needs on applications roadmaps in close alignment with Development excellence team and other IT business partners.
- Establish a vision of the future cloud hosting strategy within Garrett
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of cloud roadmap and services that would enable Garretts future needs.
- Beyond future needs, proactively identify future step changes in cost / efficiency optimisations / user experiance in Cloud technologies.
- Structure a roadmap of programs / projects to achieve this vision."
Cloud infrastructure Design and Architecture "Analyzing Requirements and understanding the organization's needs and goals to design suitable cloud solutions that align with business objectives.
- Create scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures that leverage various cloud services and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and ensure seamless integration of existing applications and services into the cloud environment.
- The role also responsible for Implementing robust security measures and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations to protect data and maintain the privacy of users.
- Stay Updated with latest cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve cloud solution.

- Design and recommend optimal cloud solutions based on business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. "
Stakeholder Management "- alignment of strategy and roadmap with internal / external stakeholders and gain their buy in / required support

Transformation projects delivery "- Should be able to manage the projects and also report the status to leadership periodically.
- Responsible for taking into account opportunities to reuse solutions, modules, tools either from platform or previous projects.
Track the progress closely and reporting to all stakeholders and leadership team to seek necessary support to remove the roadblocks.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and evaluating new solutions to determine their suitability for the organization's infrastructure needs.
- Responsible for the complete deployment life cycle in cloud from architecture design to production launch in line with application performance and quality requirements.
Assess current infrastructure and Optimize cloud infra and applications for improved performance and cost efficiency.
- own and enable implementation there by meeting outlined business benefits and delivery withing scope / time / budget."
Service Operations & Effiency "Identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities on cloud design, implementing appropriate security measures, Guard rails, Control tower configurations and disaster recovery plans, availabiility zone configurations, etc.,
Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to Cloud architecture, and recommend innovative solutions by analysing between different cloud providers
- establish / maintain a strong partner & vendor management, regularly benchmarking both performance and mindset with alternatives on the market
- strong operational risk management with structured follow up on mitigation measures"
Education / Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Experience
10-12 years of experience in similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions on cloud - preferably AWS.
Key Skills and Knowledge
In-depth understanding of cloud components such as servers, storage, networks, multi cloud comparison, and data centers. Proficiency in Cloud design frameworks and methodologies.
Strong architectural and analytical skills to assess business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable infrastructure designs.
Knowledge of security best practices, protocols, and technologies, including network security, encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Relevant certifications in Cloud architecture or related areas (e.g., AWS Certified Professional Architect) is an added advanatage."
