Sports Enterprise Reporter, USA TODAY
USA TODAY Sports is seeking a dynamic enterprise writer who can deliver compelling, exclusive content at the speed of news while simultaneously working on groundbreaking projects that shape the narrative of sports around the country. This is a big job that demands an experienced journalist. The writer will work collaboratively with pillar leaders across USA TODAY's NFL, colleges, women's sports and breaking news verticals to deliver a consistent flow of content to meet reader needs in the moment.
The writer will produce content on multiple mediums, including website, vertical and horizontal video and on various social media platforms.
The ideal candidate will have dynamic writing ability, an ever-growing rolodex of sources and the ability to write quickly and with impact about the biggest story in any sport. We want someone who is ambitious, is unafraid to tackle complex topics and writes with authority and precision.
At least five years of experience is required to succeed in this role.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.

Responsibilities:
- Consistently deliver compelling enterprise on the biggest story of the day (within 24 hours) while simultaneously working on more deeply reported stories.
- Shape coverage based on historical success and adapt approach based on readership metrics and audience needs.
- Proactively ideate on and anticipate the next big story.
- Collaborate with USA TODAY Network sports leaders to move news forward.
- Create content with high utility on multiple mediums, including Instagram and YouTube.
- Build a robust rolodex of high-value sources and contacts to stay ahead of competition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of delivering high-impact journalism digital content and multimedia platforms.
- Experience navigating sensitive news with precision, clarity and tact.
- Strong social media skills and a willingness to adapt to new mediums.
- Strong competitive instincts and intellectual curiosity.
- Command of media law and Principles of Ethical Conduct.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $83,000 and $129,688. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
