What You'll Do:
The Senior Product Manager for Messaging will be expected to grow the value and utility of the messaging product portfolio in a dynamic, fast-moving marketplace, with success measured by product-specific KPIs. This role will take end-to-end ownership of the product, collaborating with various teams, including product development, project management, design, operations, editorial, revenue, business development and customer service.

You will be expected to grow the value and utility of the USA TODAY Network messaging operation, from a basis of understanding the company's email and other messaging platforms to monitoring product performance to grow engagement and revenue. To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, and ability to influence and collaborate in a cross-functional environment. Outstanding communication skills are a must.
We are looking for a confident, dynamic executor who will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide vision for our messaging roadmaps, refine requirements, resolve conflicts, and remove impediments for development teams.
- Partner with User Experience and Software Engineering leads on research and discovery.
- Take a guiding role in prioritization, and crafting user stories which ensure product development stays aligned with business needs.
- Work in an Agile environment validating key hypotheses, implementing pivot vs. persevere decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, resolve conflicts, and remove impediments for development teams.
- Plan and deliver against clear and measurable KPIs related to the timely creation and enhancement of high-quality products that support business objectives and multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of Agile scrum experience in a product role for a consumer-facing product.
- Able to think critically and constructively about complex business problems, clearly communicating analysis, and present solutions that clearly address business needs.
- Fluency in human-centered product discovery methods such as design thinking.
- Understand relevant email newsletter design and development technologies with the ability to translate requirements to engineering teams.
- Experience using data and metrics to independently test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success with attention to detail.
- Able to effectively present and explain results with quantitative information.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Background in Salesforce is a plus

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $100,000 and $130,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
