GANNETT

National Trending Team Editor: West Region

Remote

Gannett is hiring an editor to lead the West region of our national trending team. The national trending team covers the stories that start the conversation in the country each day, creating urgent, smart and innovative journalism that reaches readers on any platform.

The team responds to the nation's biggest breaking news moments for USA TODAY and more than 200 local sites, bringing national resources to bear for communities as their most important stories are unfolding.

This editor, either based in the West region or willing to work Pacific Time hours, will lead a team of three to six reporters, guiding their coverage of national, regional, and local journalism that not only offers a unique take on what is trending now, but reports on original general assignment stories that will shape the conversation tomorrow. The editor should be comfortable using analytics to help us anticipate coverage opportunities.
