Gannett's B2B Marketing team is looking for a detailed-oriented and strategic-minded Marketing Operations Specialist with a strong focus on leveraging Marketo marketing automation tools to join our growing team. Reporting into the Director of Growth Marketing, The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our marketing automation platform to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and drive impactful marketing campaigns.

The Marketing Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the marketing process and execution of campaigns, measuring and evaluating marketing performance, supporting demand generation and integrated marketing campaigns, informing strategy, and enhancing the overall marketing processes and workflow through technology-based solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketo Administration: Serve as primary administrator for Marketo, responsible for system configuration, maintenance, and optimization to support marketing initiatives
  • Campaign Management: Develop and execute automated marketing campaigns within Marketo, including email marketing, lead nurturing, segmentation, and scoring, to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Data Management: Oversee data quality and integrity within Marketo, ensuring accurate segmentation, lead routing, and database hygiene practices. Implement best practices for data governance and compliance.
  • Lead Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define lead lifecycle stages, establish lead scoring models, and optimize lead routing processes to maximize lead conversion and pipeline velocity.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize Marketo reporting capabilities to track and analyze campaign performance, monitor key metrics, and provide actionable insights to inform marketing strategy and decision-making.
  • Integration and Automation: Work closely with internal teams to integrate Marketo with other marketing and sales systems (e.g., CRM), and automate workflows to improve efficiency and alignment between marketing and sales.
  • Training and Documentation: Provide training and support to marketing team members on Marketo best practices, processes, and functionality. Develop and maintain documentation for marketing automation processes and procedures.
  • Stay Current with Marketo Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in marketing automation, attend Marketo user groups or conferences, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance our use of the platform. Assist with other Marketing and Sales-related initiatives as needed. Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of marketing operations strategy and business analytics
  • Experience with marketing automation administration experience (Marketo required).
  • Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) certification preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and integration with marketing automation platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to disseminate complex information in an understandable format.
  • Strong analytical skills including how to track, report, and analyze results against established objectives.
  • Strong project management/organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing requirements and shifting priorities.
  • Detail-oriented. Can multi-task and juggle many simultaneous priorities.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Hard-working, determined self-starter.
  • An enthusiastic, take-charge attitude, coupled with a desire to collaborate and learn.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $38,700 and $80,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable
