Growth and development reporter, commercial

Indianapolis, IN

IndyStar is seeking an audience-focused commercial growth and development reporter. This reporter will write about retail and other businesses entering and leaving central Indiana, as well as the labor/job market.

IndyStar is winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, including in 2021 for national reporting. We recently received a $2 million investment from our parent company, Gannett, to turbocharge local journalism in Central Indiana. You'll work with and learn from some of journalism's best while living in a vibrant and diverse city in the heart of the Midwest.

The growth and development reporter will produce a steady diet of dailies along with enterprise, using analytics to track what information Indiana residents want and need. As Indianapolis is a competitive journalism market, a successful reporter must bring a sense of urgency to their work and a desire to break news first and produce stories not available elsewhere.
