TITLE: Manager, Product Design - Packaging & Render
Role Purpose
As the Manager, Product Design - Packaging & Render, you will be responsible for leading the product Packaging and 3d Visualization Render teams. You will be responsible for the end-to-end roadmap, prioritization, and communication of Funko’s product design creation. You will be responsible for leading the teams and overseeing the teams design leads. This role works cross-functionally across the organization partnering with key business partners in Merchandising, Sales, Product Operations, Product Development, Engineering, Product Integrity, Product Quality, Sourcing, Planning, Marketing, and others providing timely overall product status updates. You will demonstrate cross-functional leadership in helping to bring about process improvements with the overall product go-to-market strategies.
The Manager, Packaging and Render - will be responsible for coaching and developing a team of high-performing designers to achieve business outcomes. What You’ll Do:
- Provide direction and inspire the team to ensure the development and product concept& designs process is synergized with a focus on creativity, brand alignment and results
- Drive and execute key product initiatives and provide input to short, mid, and long-term planning and budgeting
- Works with Design and Development leadership in creating and successfully executing teams near and long-term department strategy goals and cross-functional initiatives and implements within the team
- Participate in the annual budget process and mange the departments needs according to the approved budget
- Works collaboratively with Product Operations team in preparing and reporting both internally and externally on project status in the product creation life-cycle
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure the designs are inline with the product briefs and are aligned with market trends
- Proactively anticipates and identifies challenges in the design process and effectively resolves issues through appropriate actions and communications
- Works closely with the costing team and product operations team on process improvements and continual review of workflow and processes to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or Development, Merchandising, Engineering, Business (or similar degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in product design or development, commercialization, merchandise or related experience, in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, such as toys, collectables, footwear, toys, collectable or manufacturing
- 1 - 3 years direct leadership experience managing and coaching a product team or similar
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in production workflow process. Requires effective interaction with multiple departments such as Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Licensing, Planning, Procurement etc.
- Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done
- Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define a roadmap and gain buy-in;
- High attention to details and strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SmartSheet
SALARY INFORMATION:
- The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $105,000 - 130,000 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
