We are looking for a talented UX Designer for our beautiful Cork office, this is a hybrid role. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean visual design, be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional designs.

In this role you will create, evaluate and modify prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development, develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. Provides product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development. . A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Broad application of principles, theories and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields. Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Determines and develops approach to solutions; work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. University degree and 5 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.

Education and Experience

  • Preferably university degree in user centered design, usability engineering, HCI, design, cognitive psychology or related experience.
  • 5 years' work experience in a UX-related role
  • Ability to turn complex user scenarios into simple user interfaces and interactions
  • Desire to learn end users' needs and take them into account in your design work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a customer-driven, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the field of network security or understanding of networking protocols is a definite advantage.
  • Prior work experience with enterprise-class business-to-business products.
  • Experience of CSS styling for web UIs.
  • Familiarity with experience mapping, storyboards, user personas and other methods associated with a user-centered design process.
  • Experience with conducting user tests, design workshops, customer surveys and doing data analysis.
  • Ability to interact and maintain professionalism with customers and end-users.
  • Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written.
