Flexport Trucking is looking for a creative, technically-minded Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who is motivated to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems in the Trucking industry.

The Opportunity

The Business Intelligence Engineer role will be responsible for creating the proper data modeling necessary to facilitate reporting, analytics, and predictive modeling for key stakeholders. If you enjoy working at the intersection of data science and data engineering and achieving highly impactful outcomes through cross-functional collaboration, this role is for you.

You will:


  • Engage with scientists, business partners, and cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Operations) to understand data needs, influence roadmap decisions, and drive measurable business outcomes through data-driven recommendations.

  • Architect, build, and launch efficient data products to enable comprehensive metrics, operational health analysis, predictive modeling, and self-serve dashboards.

  • Develop deep business domain expertise to ensure high data quality and a strong understanding of how data interacts across the business.

  • Adopt and champion best practices in data reporting and analysis, including integrity, validation, test design, and documentation.

  • Contribute to a collaborative analytics and engineering environment, participating in code review and version control workflows.


You Should Have:

  • 2-4+ years of relevant experience with strong SQL skills, experience with ETL frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt), and proficiency in Python or other scripting languages (preferred).

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) and data visualization tools and frameworks (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Matplotlib, etc.).

  • Familiarity with engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, and collaborative development using tools such as Git and GitHub.

  • Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing, schema design, and dimensional modeling with a passion for data quality and scalable solutions.

  • Ability to gather, translate, and prioritize ambiguous business requirements into actionable BI deliverables, as well as manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of and commitment to data privacy, security, and compliance best practices.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the posting's respective region. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training. 








The US base salary range for this position (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits):
$124,000$156,000 USD
