The Account Manager will play a crucial role in managing and driving the business of North American clients operating on European trade lanes. This role entails full ownership of the business these clients conduct in Europe and serves as the primary point of contact for the US team regarding their clients’ European operations and commercial growth.

Our clients rely on us to provide a high level of service, professionalism, and strategic insight. The Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring a seamless experience by proactively addressing challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and maintaining strong relationships across global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for North American clients operating on European trade lanes, ensuring smooth execution of their shipments and supply chain operations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with the client local stakeholders in Europe, fostering trust and driving business growth.
  • Conduct Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs/QBRs) to assess account health, provide strategic insights, and align on future business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the local Operations Teams to define and optimize shipping processes, address escalations, and resolve structural issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams in Europe to ensure operational excellence, meeting client expectations, and proactively resolving potential bottlenecks.
  • Act as a liaison between North American Sales Teams and European stakeholders to align on account strategies and growth plans.
  • Support the implementation and onboarding of EU based processes, ensuring smooth transitions and operational readiness for new clients and lanes.
  • If needed, work flexible hours to accommodate collaboration with global teams, including late-hour meetings with North America-based counterparts.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor client performance, identify areas for improvement, and initiate process optimizations where necessary.
  • Drive product adoption by ensuring clients maximize the value of Flexport’s offerings and digital tools.
  • Work with Global Operations Teams to proactively address escalations, ensuring a high standard of service and operational efficiency.
  • Stay up to date on supply chain processes through internal and external training, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to clients.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, globally connected environment, providing high-impact solutions for North American clients operating in Europe. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and proactive in driving client success through operational excellence and strategic collaboration.

 

You should have:

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain operations, sales/account management or a client facing role.
  • 2+ years experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain.
  • Client-centric: obsessed with client outcomes, doing what it takes to deliver the client’s expectations, understanding your client’s current and future business goals and challenges and translating those into relevant solutions and strategic account planning.
  • Hands-on, process-oriented, structured thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Deeply curious: always working to understand the client’s needs and learn how Flexport can best meet them.
  • Next-level attention to detail: enjoy combing through the metrics and details to identify opportunities to improve internally or better manage the client relationship.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Fluency in English.
