Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.

• Utilise Autodesk software such as Inventor, Vault, Nastran and other tools to turn ideas into physical assemblies ready for prototype testing, production, and manufacture
• Introduce technologies & techniques such as i-Logic within the design stage to support cost-effective and robust product solutions
• Run internal FEM calculations and verify through external structural engineers
• Manage and assist with all necessary product testing and verification in accordance with relevant national and global product standards.
• Produce technical documents to support product specifications
• Generate detailed engineering, production, and assembly drawing packs for in-house or external manufacture inclusive of full bill of materials ensuring all documents are controlled and accurate at all times
• Work on multiple projects efficiently, delivering to tight deadlines and keeping to budgets
• Reporting and presenting to Engineering management
• Management and organisation of available business resources
• Ability to travel to other Anord Mardix locations if required

• Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience as a mechanical design engineer
• Proven understanding and use of FEA software such as Nastran or ANSYS
• Candidates must be IT competent and be proficient in 3D CAD software, Autodesk Inventor & i-Logic
• Previous experience with electrical equipment design would be preferable
• Display advanced numeracy and literacy skills with the ability to communicate ideas effectively and accurately both visually and verbally
• Practical hands-on approach demonstrating sound technical and problem-solving ability
• Keen analytical and observational skills with reliable attention to detail

• Must be motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to interact seamlessly with other departments and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
