Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Operations Training Manager located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations Engineering the Operations Training Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic training initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Operations Training Manager will ensure workforce readiness for NPI launches, production growth, and operational excellence through effective learning strategies, competency development, and training execution.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training strategies aligned with manufacturing and business objectives.
- Develop training plans for New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, and operational expansion activities.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to identify current and future workforce capability needs.
- Translate production demand, capacity growth, and skill requirements into effective training programs and workforce development plans.
- Oversee training execution across direct labor and indirect personnel, ensuring compliance with operational and quality requirements.
- Lead a team of coordinators, trainers, and technicians across multiple shifts, ensuring consistent training deployment and qualification processes.
- Manage competency matrices, certification programs, and employee development paths through Workday and other learning systems.
- Support project transfers and manufacturing ramp-ups by coordinating training readiness and knowledge transfer activities.
- Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards, manufacturing procedures, and customer requirements.
- Monitor training effectiveness through metrics, audits, and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of learning and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Build partnerships with educational institutions and training providers to strengthen talent pipelines and technical capabilities.
- BA/BS in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in manufacturing operations, training, learning & development, or workforce development.
- Experience supporting Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environments.
- Strong understanding of SMT assembly processes, manufacturing operations, and production environments.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 quality acceptance standards.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, and manufacturing ramp-up activities.
- Proven experience leading teams.
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS).
- Intermediate English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Availability for occasional travel.
