Job Title: Vice President, Real Estate Investments

The Role

The VP, Real Estate Investments will partner with the Head of Direct Real Estate and the Direct Real Estate Investment Team to execute on a plan to acquire commercial real estate in the US on behalf of various FMR fund vehicles. This will include sourcing the opportunity, managing the financial and market underwriting, negotiating with the seller, presenting the opportunity to the Investment Committee, running the due diligence process, closing the transaction and leading the property-level financing process as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Source real estate investment opportunities that meet portfolio criteria (asset class and risk/return) across target markets through existing network or broker relationships
  • Review and underwrite potential investment opportunities
  • Negotiate and structure real estate acquisitions and property level financing
  • Prepare analysis of opportunity and materials for investment committee approval, present opportunities to investment committee for approval
  • Review and approve legal, operational, environmental, engineering and appraisal reports created as part of the due diligence process
  • Contribute valuable knowledge of US real estate markets
  • Build and maintain appropriate pipeline of opportunities
  • Manage and develop investment analysts and associates

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years work experience in commercial real estate required; majority within investment roles
  • Strong professional relationships throughout the US real estate industry
  • Recent relevant investment experience in US commercial real estate across various asset classes; Asset Management experience a plus
  • Strong writing, financial analysis and presentation abilities
  • Ability to evaluate real estate and real estate markets
  • Management and leadership skills necessary to implement a new product/strategy within Fidelity
  • Critical, objective thinker that can analyze an opportunity and make a quick decision
  • Collaborative, results driven leader
