Vice President - Defined Benefits Implementation

The Role

The Vice President, Defined Benefits Implementation position exists within Fidelity's Workplace Investing Client and Participant Services organization. This role leads multiple teams that are responsible for providing the analysis, design, configuration, and quality functions for Fidelity's Defined Benefit Implementation business on multiple platforms including Strategic/DBCS and Core/DBAS offerings. We are looking for someone who can provide strategic direction, make decisions, and take on sophisticated problems to move our business forward while leading multiple VP led teams of tenured resources who are responsible for PMO, requirements, configuration, and testing as well as technical design, development, and collaboration with DB data and calculation engine teams.

This team is also responsible for existing client support which can be large or small and require detailed scoping with all necessary teams, as well as providing a detailed estimate to our clients for sign off, for both implementations and Corporate Actions or other client projects. This team will lead change order process to account for necessary modifications statement of work.

The leader of this team will be responsible for multi-year planning to be coordinated with our Sales team (slot plans) as well as ongoing work to support all DB clients. The role will be leading efforts for continuous process improvement opportunities for scale and client satisfaction as we continue to grow our client base.

  • Ensure teams engage appropriate business partners or project stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide direction to the project team to ensure development and completion of all critical project/program documents according to defined processes and / or escalate challenges when the situations arise.

The Expertise and Skills We're Seeking

  • Experience in Implementation and/or project management
  • Defined Benefit experience preferred
  • Lead teams with large-scale projects with high levels of complexity, with limited direction and oversight; responsible for overall successful execution of the project
  • Drive the Change Management approach, ensuring strategies are captured, communicated, and implemented successfully
  • When needed, assist in prioritizing objectives and provide guidance to the project team, managing escalations as needed
  • Conduct Steering Committee client meetings when required; provide executive summaries to senior management on a regular basis
  • Participate and represent DB in the annual Command Center and holiday coverage
  • Build, lead and maintain a highly skilled team to define and implement strategies related to the Personal and Workplace Investing multiyear plan.
  • Be accountable for strategic direction for your organization to meet department goals concerning productivity, quality, risk management, and expense management.
  • Lead, participate and support cross-product business initiatives to improve processes, standardizations, quality, and/or reduce cost.
  • Provide mentorship to team by coaching and creating opportunities.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; master's preferred
  • Proven leadership and accountability KPI's
  • Experience in client facing roles is a plus, providing high quality delivery, relationship building, and client ownership

The Defined Benefit Implementation team leads and participates in projects for our existing Defined Benefit clients, leads implementation projects for new clients that will be record kept by Fidelity. The team works collaboratively with our multi-product clients and helps provide seamless transitions and service to our DB Client base. We are the #1 Defined Benefit provider in the industry.
