As Vice President, Domain Architect within Fidelity Institutional's Capital Markets & Investment Products Technology (CMIPT) organization, you will define and support the architectural strategy for some of the most complex and high-impact areas of the business. You'll design scalable, secure, and forward-looking technology solutions that align with long-term goals, spanning business applications, cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI capabilities to drive innovation and growth.

In this role, you'll bring deep technical and business domain expertise, translating strategy into actionable IT capabilities. You'll lead architectural governance, promote enterprise standards, and assess emerging technologies to shape future-ready solutions. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams are essential, as is a pragmatic approach to balancing innovation with execution.
While not required, experience in specialized financial domains can enhance your impact. Backgrounds in prime brokerage, securities lending, fixed income trading, or alternative investment distribution offer valuable insights into designing agile, data-driven, and compliant systems. However, a commitment to continuous learning is equally valued.
Your success will be defined by your ability to lead with clarity, foster cross-functional alignment, and deliver practical, scalable solutions. As a visible leader and advocate for architectural excellence, you'll help elevate solution architecture practices within CMIPT and across Fidelity.
The Expertise You Have
- Education - BS or MS required
- Experience leading technical architects, technology governance, and complex solution design
- 12+ years of experience in building distributed systems and applications and cloud database technologies
- Experience with prime brokerage services, including onboarding, margin financing, risk management, and reporting
- Ability to design and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and client experience in prime brokerage
- Knowledge of securities lending operations, including collateral management, loan negotiation, and regulatory compliance
- Skilled in architecting integrated systems that optimize securities lending workflows
- Familiarity with fixed income products, trading strategies, and market dynamics
- Experience developing trading platforms with real-time analytics capabilities
- Understanding of alternative investment product distribution (e.g., hedge funds, private credit/equity, real estate)
- Skill in analyzing business direction and challenges, understanding long-term vision and risk, and guiding strategic technical solutions
- Experience collaborating with product managers, architects, and technical leads to evaluate, recommend, and configure technologies aligned with long-term strategy
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams and constructively challenge decisions to support strategic goals
- Financial industry experience preferred, particularly within brokerage

- Continuously improve delivery outcomes by mentoring teams, promoting architectural best practices, and ensuring solutions are built for long-term success
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
