Position Description:

Provides system production support using Cloud-based technologies - SaaS solutions for Cloud providers. Coordinates work flows using Continuous Integration and Continuous

Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and associated technologies. Scripts in PowerShell, Python, and Java. Supports application production using Docker, Cloud-computing, and Cloud services platforms - Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Supports technology issues using Ping, Traceroute, DNS, routing, search, and analytics engines - Splunk and ELK. Provides operational support - infrastructure, Cloud enablement, platform engineering, environment management, incident, and deployment support.

  • Engineers, modernizes, and supports software applications to provide critical production support.
  • Promotes Agile leadership behaviors to evolve and sustain innovative Agile culture.
  • Coordinates technology environment stability and availability.
  • Implements Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles to best deliver software applications.
  • Supports workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification for applications.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposing modifications and improvements based on user need.
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Information Assurance, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) providing production and operational support for mission-critical client/server business applications within an enterprise infrastructure.

Or, alternatively, a Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Information Assurance, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) providing production and operational support for mission-critical client/server business applications within an enterprise infrastructure.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") providing installation and upgrade support to development teams during migration of on-premise, in-house, and vendor-based applications to AWS Cloud platforms; performing down and up scaling, using AWS services - Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) and Auto Scaling Groups; and building performance data dashboards and application performance monitors, using Splunk and Datadog.
  • DE troubleshooting production incidents, using Web and desktop based client applications hosted on-premise and on public Cloud platforms; scripting and executing stored procedures or functions in Oracle and Snowflake databases; performing deployment management using Udeploy, Jenkins, and Concourse; and performing deployment management integration using HashiCorp and Vault.
  • DE writing scripts to accomplish workflow automation, using Python and PowerShell; performing process automation using Ansible and Rundeck; and integrating data and process flows with on-premise API's for reporting and data management.
