Position Description:

Develops recommendation to modify procedures, operating systems, budgets, and financial control functions. Defines, refines, and communicates the team's mission and roadmap to motivate and build team, partner support, and alignment. Uses investment technology to plan and prioritize product backlog. Anticipates, discovers, and prioritizes client and partner needs, to serve as a voice, and guide execution of the team's projects. Collaborates and coordinates with other leaders to build capacity and capability, and enables team member growth, development, and learning.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Investment Professionals - Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Analysts, or Traders.
  • Outlines sophisticated product features into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with individuals or business customers.
  • Prepares operational or risk reports for management analysis.
  • Evaluates data pertaining to costs to plan budgets.
  • Evaluates financial reporting systems, accounting or collection procedures, or investment activities.
  • Develops recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, or other financial control functions.
  • Makes informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Development (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and developing recommendations to modify operational procedures, operational systems, and financial control functions, using Excel VBA and SQL.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Development (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and developing recommendations to modify operational procedures, operational systems, and financial control functions, using Excel VBA and SQL.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") identifying, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements and processes, using RSA Archer, PowerPoint, and Excel; creating data flow diagrams using Visio; and building Excel prototypes in Excel.
  • DE performing financial risk analysis on fixed income instruments and derivatives to support project planning and prioritization, using Bloomberg Terminal (for data collection) and hedging techniques in MATLAB and Excel (to identify areas for opportunity).
  • DE developing and testing quantitative financial models to support investment decision making and trading - GAAP or GIPS; and performing qualitative and quantitative analysis on financial models, technology designs, and data according to industry standards, financial theory, mathematical formulation, and regulatory expectations, using MATLAB, SQL Developer, and Excel.
  • DE performing Asset Liability Management data analysis using SQL Developer and Excel; and developing custom solutions to support trading and investment management, using Business Intelligence tools - Power BI and Tableau.
