Position Description:
Deploys Machine Learning (ML) pipelines and supports solution integration using end-user applications. Extracts data from a variety of sources, sizes, formats, and access methods and transforms data into business-informed features and model-ready data sets. Develops ML models into usable and consumable states. Works on projects involving large scale-multi dimensional databases, complex business infrastructure, and cross-functional teams using Python, Spark, SQL, EMR, Sagemaker, Snowflake, ModelOp, and Tableau. Builds scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ML algorithms, including deep learning and reinforcement learning to improve customer experiences and drive business results.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Balances hands-on coding and modeling activities, solution design, and leadership of resources and stakeholders.
- Leads multiple, concurrent initiatives.
- Delegates work and provides mentorship to junior team members.
- Researches and recommends emerging and new/enhanced algorithms.
- Presents modeling decisions and rationale to stakeholders.
- Executes opportunities to enhance scale by developing reusable components and capabilities.
- Observes the current system in operation and gathers and analyzes information about each of the parts of component problems.
- Designs, conducts, and evaluates experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data.
- Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project.
- Developing and implementing data quality and governance processes.
- Develops artifacts, diagrams, and supporting materials for initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Data Science (or closely related occupation) building AI/ML models in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Data Science (or closely related occupation) building AI/ML models in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, PhD (or foreign education equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and no experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") improving financial planning, advice offerings, and recommendations while liaising with business, product, and engineering stakeholder teams to assess the validity of ML models, using experimentation design; and communicating revenue or cost saving benefits to senior leadership, using business intelligence tools - Seaborn, Plotly, Tableau, and Excel.
- DE developing and supporting business critical applications within a financial services and asset management compliance, risk, and trading environments, using Python, Amazon Sagemaker, and Tableau; triaging and addressing production incidents to mitigate business impact and identify root cause, using Datadog, CloudWatch logs, and capacity reports; performing data analysis and modeling - logical and physical - using Oracle SQL developer data modeler; and performing data visualization and KPI dashboard development, using Tableau and Python libraries - Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly.
- DE analyzing large data sets to gather insights, develop new processes, perform calculations, identify anomalies, and produce new reporting capabilities; traversing and extracting data from data-base schemas across diverse content sets, using SQL; and delivering data visualizations using R and Python.
- DE developing ML models, feature engineering, data pipelines, training data, testing, and validation, using Python and Amazon Web Services (AWS) framework.
Salary: $163,238.00 - $173,238.00 /year.
