Job Description:

The Fidelity Design System team is looking for a Principal UX Designer who is a digital systems thinker and skilled collaborator, with advanced knowledge of how Figma, code, and standards can come together to make our teams more efficient and our experiences more impactful.

The Team

The Fidelity Design System enables our digital product teams to deliver high quality, consistent experiences, with faster speed to market and lower maintenance costs. Our team is committed to delivering materials and hands-on guidance to help people across the enterprise build world-class experiences in web and mobile.

We operate across business units, looking for connections and common solutions that can help us work more efficiently as a digital business. Our team is flexible and responsive to changing needs and shifting priorities, while intent on maintaining the quality and consistency needed to deliver a high-quality design system.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Experience

o 7-10+ years of UX or related experience is preferred

o A degree in a related field such as interactive design, architecture, industrial design, graphic design, or human factors is preferred

o Experience constructing and applying elements of a design system, such as components, tokens, and patterns

o Experience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products

o A digital portfolio we can review online is required

Skills

o An array of design skills, which might include visual, conversational, information architecture, prototyping, strategic design methods (such as design thinking), user research, or writing

o Ability to design across all channels including web, native, and automated

o Effective communication as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; equally at ease speaking with developer partners or executives

o Deep expertise in advanced Figma functionality, including the creation, publishing, and use of enterprise Figma libraries.

o A working knowledge of Token architecture and Design System Theming, to create capabilities that will work across business units and enable the design style that will work with the individual business needs for styling while maintaining the core and common patterns.

o A robust understanding of the relationship between design assets and code in a design system. Requires a base knowledge of HTML and CSS

o Familiarity with the value and composition of design systems, understanding reuse and scale, and knowing when to contribute to make them better

Principal UX Designers typically:

o Lead definition of the design work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams, with minimal guidance and coaching

o Partner with the product owner to help inform product strategy

o Work across the organization to drive consistent customer experiences

o Contribute to the culture of the UXD group

o Coach and mentor junior designers across the group

o Provide design and product thought leadership
