Develops database solutions using batch schedules software - Control-M and Autosys. Aligns Information Technology (IT) services with the needs of the firm using an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. Monitors Cloud computing, distributed applications, and databases. Provides application and database support. Assesses the business impact of incidents via customer interaction. Performs systems analysis of batch and application issues and troubleshoots issues. Resolves incidents through application tools and databases such as Linux, Oracle, and PL/SQL. Coordinates the migration of fixes with the development teams into the production environment. Supports a portfolio of critical applications running in a complex globally distributed environment. Drives incident, problem, and change management processes. Develops, documents and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads and provides operational services for Cloud migrations by moving data, applications, and other business critical components on premises infrastructure to the Cloud on AWS/EKS.
- Participates in the development of tools used to facilitate operational procedures and deploys code written in Java, Python, Oracle, and AWS Lambda, using Concourse, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into AWS Cloud environments.
- Defines and recommends process improvement initiatives.
- Completes technical service requests.
- Drives incident management and resolutions and identifies root cause and coordination of fixes.
- Responsible for the creation and documentation of disaster recovery procedures.
- Creates contingency plans covering key areas of vulnerability within the system.
- Coordinates systems installation and configuration of systems installation and infrastructure changes.
- Responsible for the maintenance of system diagrams and operational procedures.
- Develops tools to automate the collection and analysis of operational data.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on multiple projects concurrently.
- Establishes on-time and on-budget project goals.
- Maintains status of project and monitors activities of team members.
- Provides application support and assists in the identification, isolation, and escalation of problems of limited scope.
- Participates in application functionality analysis by gathering appropriate data and presenting it in chart form for analysis.
- Participates in the evaluation of design for existing systems to assess their reliability, performance, usage, maintainability, and cost of ownership.
- Participates in the development of technical solutions of limited complexity to support delivery of service requests.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing database solutions using batch scheduling software - Control-M and Autosys.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing database solutions using batch scheduling software - Control-M and Autosys.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing complex solutions to asset management and financial application issues and data anomalies across portfolio management, trading, and research functions maintaining data quality; supporting financial and trading application deployments and new server build outs; and monitoring batch systems for business products using Oracle PL/SQL, Informatica ETL, UNIX, Python, Snowflake, and Autosys.
- DE providing installation and upgrade support to development teams during the migration of on-premise, in-house, and vendor-based applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud platforms; performing down and up scaling using AWS services - Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS), Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2), and EKS PODS; creating and monitoring Cloud watch alerts using Cloud Watch monitoring tool; and building performance data dashboards and application performance monitors, using Splunk and Datadog.
- DE automating manual operations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and providing installation and upgrade support to development teams during the migration of on-premise, in-house, and vendor-based application deployments, using Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, Stash, GIT, IBM Udeploy, Autosys, and Venafi; integrating, monitoring, and optimizing application performance, development; and developing disaster recovery strategies and monitoring production trading environment access, using Service Now, Jira, and Kanban.
- DE troubleshooting production incidents, using Web and desktop client applications hosted on-premise and on public Cloud platforms; scripting and executing stored procedures or functions in Oracle, Snowflake, and IBM Netezza databases; monitoring, scheduling, and configuring TIBCO EMS and Kafka messaging and middle-tier platforms; and improving application/platform stability and creating custom automation tools, using Perl, Python, Shell, and HPOO workflows.
Salary: $115,378.00 - $135,200.00/year.
