We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer/Technical Lead to join our team in Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT). You will work as part of a new team developing performance measurement and analytics software for Custom Separately Managed Accounts (CSMA), which is a highly strategic initiative in our FI Wealth Management Technology area.

We seek a highly motivated individual who can apply their leadership experience to lead out the software design and development activities for the team and to guide and encourage your fellow team members.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering etc.) required with minimum 8+ years of development experience
  • Experience in object-oriented software development with Java and/or Python
  • Experience with database technologies such as Snowflake and Oracle
  • Experience with Spark (Java or Scala), is an advantage
  • Experience in Cloud technologies (AWS), is an advantage
  • Experience working in an agile software delivery environment, with experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery, and source control tools
  • A passion for clean, maintainable code, and a desire to learn
  • Strong technical leadership experience in leading and mentoring scrum teams focused on building software solutions for business critical applications. The development teams you have worked with have multi-functional responsibilities such as engineering, quality and release implementation
  • Strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in meaningful discussions with partners across technology, business and architecture
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building/management skills
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills. Leadership to guide, encourage, and motivate your fellow engineers. You will help lead and mentor the team in advocating and achieving engineering excellence across our product space

The Team

Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) supports our business partners to excel in their respective markets. We strive to achieve this by meticulously crafting, building, and upkeeping the software, technological infrastructure and products within Fidelity's Institutional (FI) business units. Embedded within FIT, is the Performance Measurement & Analytics (PMA) area, which is dedicated to the creation and support of performance measurement and analytics and performance reporting software for our investment products. As a vital member of this dynamic team, your role within FIT will focus on providing technical leadership and software development expertise within the team.
