Builds Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Platforms. Builds, modernizes, and maintains Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Web applications. Builds Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular application components and module coding. Crafts and develops solutions using Java and Spring Boot. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Web applications using Java and Angular in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining Web applications using Java and Angular in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") acting as a member of a full-stack engineering team - designing, developing, and testing highly scaled, secure Web applications, using Java, J2EE, and Web services (SOAP and RESTful); performing distributed Object-Oriented Design (OOD), using Microservices design patterns; and performing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, and uDeploy.
- DE architecting and implementing secure and highly scalable applications for brokerage platform solutions using Swagger and Open API; establishing standards in application development and deployments, and testing automation using Unit/JUnit and Selenium; and mentoring team members in setting up applications using Java Spring Boot and REST API technologies.
- DE developing modular based architecture of Cloud enabled components according to Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Micro Service best practices - 12 Factor App; building, deploying, running, and scaling Containerized applications using Docker; performing application orchestration using Kubernetes; calculating performance of domain service applications using AWS as a Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS).
- DE designing and developing dynamic and responsive SPAs using Angular 12+, JavaScript, Typescript, Webpack, ExtJS, and NodeJS; performing TDD using Karma and Jasmine; and building Microsoft (MS) add-ins to enable interactions into MS Outlook using Office.js library.
