The Role
The Principal Java/J2EE Developer will work closely with the rest of the product development team in designing and building new or enhancing existing capabilities and platforms for Prime Brokerage Optimize. You are comfortable working with a small team of developers in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging and new technologies, high risks, and uncertainty.
The Expertise You Have
- 12+ years of Java/J2EE development experience.
- Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or related fields).
- Solid understanding of Rest concepts and developing rest APIs using spring boot with tomcat.
- Excellent understanding of Java capabilities, lambda, streams and functional interfaces, spring modules, including IOC, MVC(Rest), spring boot along with other core components like oauth2 and security, AWS cloud, Angular.
- Experience with Maven, Jenkins.
- Cloud experience with AWS and Azure Certification are a plus.
- Agile methodology experience with CI/CD
- 5+ years working in financial industry is a plus.
- Understand glossaries and terminologies in financial industry
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams.
- Motivated and able to deliver end to end solutions.
- Good communication skill to both technology folks and business partners.
- Quick learner, adaptable, has the right attitude to work across teams to find and deploy solutions.

The Team
The Prime Brokerage Team, within Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT), is seeking 'Software Engineer' to join the team to help build and maintain high quality product and solutions to enable custody business. We are looking for a person who has hands-on software engineering experience building cloud-based systems using modern, scalable, resilient, Cloud native architectures (Containers and Serverless). This role will involve partner & stakeholder engagement, design, release support and production support. In this role, you will be an integral part of the prime brokerage team where you'll get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Fidelity teams and continue to learn in a fun, collaborative, iterative, and rapidly changing environment.
The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$179,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
