Principal Software Engineer (Mainframe)

The Role

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer with superb mainframe technical skills to develop and maintain high volume production platforms in the FBSI Order Management System domain of the Trade Management Engineering organization.

The Team

We are an agile squad that is part of the Trade Management Engineering organization. Working together and with other squads, we deliver solutions to our customers by aligning the right skillsets to their most critical business priorities. The work is diverse, challenging, and provides for continuous learning and growth opportunities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 8+ years of software development experience in business critical, enterprise-wide applications
  • Mainframe development expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 & VSAM
  • Knowledge of MQ and Kafka messaging infrastructure technologies
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis and documentation for maintenance and improvement projects in batch and online environments
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Deploy and support software releases into production environments
  • Employ your data security skills to keep our customers information safe
  • You are detailed and thorough with unit, functional and regression testing
  • Proven Experience writing COBOL/Native stored procedures is a plus
  • Experience in Distributed Technologies (Nice to have/Willing to learn)
  • Confidence to think and act strategically, share innovative insights, and offer creative solutions to deliver exceptional user experiences
  • Proven strong interpersonal and organizational skills coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Embrace flexibility and shift focus to meet the most pressing customer/client needs
  • You bring a growth mentality to work every day as you continue to learn new technologies and skills and seek to share that knowledge with your squad members

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most roles listed as Hybrid will require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to roles listed as Remote or Onsite.

Salary Grade:

6
The base salary range for this position is $107,000-$181,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
