The Purpose of This Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Fidelity Health Benefits Platform (FHB) team within Workplace Investing (WI) . As a member of the FHB Product Development team, you will design, develop, and own scalable and resilient enterprise-grade solutions that powers FHB's platform capabilities. Using modern technology stacks and cloud-native architectures, you will build and continuously enhance systems aligning with enterprise software development practices. This role empowers you to contribute across the full development lifecycle while collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Technical
- Technical Leadership: Defines technical direction and leads development efforts
- Advanced Java & Microservices: Designs and develops scalable microservices using Spring Boot
- Database Design - Advanced SQL, PostgreSQL, DB Design and analysis skills with focus on performance and scalability
- Platform Design: Designs scalable, secure, and high-performance systems for the product features following enterprise guidelines
- Cloud-Native Expertise: Deep understanding of cloud deployment models and infrastructure
- CI/CD Strategy: Owns CI/CD processes and ensures release reliability
- Security & Compliance: Leads secure development practices aligned with enterprise standards
- UI/UX & Frontend: Exposure to modern UI frameworks like Angular and TypeScript
- Messaging & Eventing: Proficient in event-driven systems
- Dev Assist Tools : Hands-on experience with tools like GitHub CoPilot, Gemini and has the ability to evaluate use cases across dev process
- Quality Ownership: Defines testing standards and drives quality initiatives
- Environment Management: Experienced in managing and optimizing mature product environments
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role
- Exposure to the US healthcare Payor domain is preferred

The Expertise We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree - Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 8+ years experience
- Proficiency in Java, REST API, Spring Framework , SQL
- Experience with enterprise grade distributed application and support
Shift timings: 11:00am - 8:00pm
