The Team

The Fidelity Health Benefits Group supports the recordkeeping and administration of health benefits (medical, dental and vision plans) and life insurance plans on behalf of Fidelity's corporate clients, their employees and retirees. The technology associates on the FHB Platform team interact with business partners as well as systems partners who have responsibility for client-facing channels such as NetBenefits®. The development teams are located across USA and India. Team size is 300+ resources across IT and Product. This highly motivated team works completely on Agile Methodology.

Fidelity Health is looking for a Principal Software Engineer in Test to work on the Fidelity Health Benefits technology team. The ideal candidate enjoys designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites to ensure product quality and release readiness. We seek a hardworking individual capable of bringing a software engineering attitude to our testing practices, with a proven track record of leading testing initiatives.

The team will be working on developing a test strategy and implementation of key technical solutions in quality engineering to enable the development team to quickly iterate and deliver internal tooling capabilities within Fidelity Health Benefits (FHB). The individual will establish new automation infrastructure, maintain existing automation, and create reusable tests artifacts to streamline testing processes. You will be part of a scrum team as well as part of the HCG FHB QA Chapter. Key areas of focus will be frictionless test automation, generic test data management, Mid Tier automation framework, predictive analytics and CICD Integration.

The Expertise You Have

  • Minimum BS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 10+years' experience in commercial software development using object-oriented design methodology.
  • 10+ years' experience with Java, JavaScript and Python combined.
  • 6+ years' experience with RDBMS, RESTAPI and related tools such as SQL, RestAssured, and Postman
  • 4+ years' experience with web application test automation frameworks, such as Cypress, Playwright, and/or Selenium.
  • Knowledge/Experience on Cloud (Azure) is added value
  • Proven technical experience as an automation engineer/software engineer working across a diverse range of applications at multiple layers of the technology stack

  • Work with your agile delivery team, chapter lead and QA team members to understand domain and accelerate their test automation strategy to enable delivery velocity.
  • Strong contributor with a collaborative work style, and you enjoy designing and implementing efficient and effective test strategies
  • Experience in testing distributed applications at multiple layers of the technology stack using a variety of automation frameworks.
  • Expertise with using Java or JavaScript and experience with Cucumber/BDD
  • A proven knowledge of CI/CD principles using Jenkins and Git and can make recommendations on how to best include test automation into pipelines
  • Work in a team of SDET's focused on automation standard processes and building reusable artifacts.
  • Bring a learning approach to your work and are eager to master and adopt new technologies
  • Thrive in an Agile environment and believe in the value of t-shaped squad members.
