The Team

Fidelity's Enterprise Infrastructure Global Network Team is adding a Principal Engineer to the Network Proxy Engineering (NPE) team. We are a dynamic group of experts looking to demonstrate emerging technologies to rapidly improve the ability of Fidelity's Business Units.

As a Principal Engineer on the NPE team, you will be a member of the team and will engage in multiple proxy related projects and providing 3rd Line operational support and problem resolution. You will support the operational teams in handling incidents and requests and will collaborate and work extensively with technology partners across the Fidelity enterprise.

The Expertise and Skill You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience working on proxy and network security
  • 7+ years of experience within the network engineering environment
  • Cloud proxy knowledge and experience
  • Zscaler, ZIA and ZDX preferred
  • Ability to administer the following types of Proxy servers: explicit HTTP, reverse HTTP, and SOCKS
  • Experience with Symantec Blue Coat, and NGINX vendors
  • Solid grasp of IP, TCP, TLS, and HTTP/HTTPS protocols
  • Solid grasp of network security best practices
  • Experience with PAC File functions and creation
  • Basic Javascript programming
  • Understanding of PAC file interactions with common browser behavior
  • Experience with SSL Interception on web sessions for ICAP/DLP inspection
  • Knowledge of Agile best practices and familiar with Jira
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the Network or Proxy environments
  • Member of 3rd level engineering escalation, participate in and on-call rotation
  • Management of life cycle for various technologies within the space
  • Engineering customer connectivity / onboarding based on requirements
  • Consulting with customers on best practices and options
  • Business to Customer as well as Business to Business connectivity
  • Documentation of complex technologies and topologies based on security standard methodologies
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to speak with customers of all technical levels
  • Infrastructure software development and automation skills is a plus
  • Python and Ansible

  • Providing support for all Enterprise Proxy environment
  • Effectively managing and participating on projects that involve other groups
  • Preparing technical and project proposals for management review and approval
  • Participating on multi-functional crisis resolution teams as required
  • Providing research and analysis to support business unit project initiatives
  • Performing on-call (7 x 24) coverage on a rotational basis with other Proxy Engineers
  • Assisting other engineers on implementing solutions for customer requirements

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
