Principal, Full Stack Engineer (SRE)
The Role
Our Engineering Productivity & Reliability Tools group within Enterprise Infrastructure builds high impact internal applications that help SREs work smarter and operate more reliably. We deliver full stack systems that streamline workflows, surface real time insights, and enable automation at scale.
We create tools that simplify complex infrastructure tasks, improve observability, and reduce cognitive load through resilient, thoughtful design.
We are seeking a Full‑Stack Engineer with strong software fundamentals and solid experience in distributed systems. You will collaborate with SREs to convert real‑world operational pain points into well‑crafted, reliable internal tools.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required, Master's degree a plus.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience; experience contributing to or leading technical direction a plus.
- Proven experience building full‑stack applications and services in a modern development environment.
- Experience developing cloud‑native applications, preferably on AWS.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaborative engineering practices
- Strong full‑stack development experience using Python, Node.js, or Go on the backend, and modern UI frameworks such as React or React Native on the frontend.
- Ability to design and build reliable, scalable services, APIs, and automation tools used by engineering teams.
- Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or similar
- Experience integrating with observability platforms (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.) and instrumenting applications for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Understanding of AIOps concepts and experience using or integrating tools that support anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, or operational insights.
- Ability to reason about performance, scalability, and data‑flow patterns in distributed systems
- Comfortable working with relational and NoSQL databases, with a high‑level understanding of schema design and data modeling
- Strong grasp of DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with SREs, developers, and platform teams to understand needs and deliver intuitive solutions.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn new technologies, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Build full‑stack internal tools that improve operational efficiency, automation, and visibility for SRE teams.
- Translate engineering pain points into scalable solutions that simplify workflows and enhance reliability.
- Develop backend services, automation frameworks, dashboards, and UIs that reduce cognitive load and accelerate troubleshooting.
- Ensure the tools you build are performant, resilient, and easy to support as usage scales.
- Support engineers through clear documentation, thoughtful UX, and ongoing partnership across teams.
