We are seeking a successful Principal Data/Systems Analyst to play a key member of an agile delivery Data squad but is also involved in solutioning with our Squad Leads / Product Owners to gather & document business requirements, leading current state analysis of our systems, helping define our technology solution, and partnering with testers in test case preparation. The role requires great collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the life cycle of a product/application.

The Role

The Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) group is looking for a highly motivated, self-driven Data/systems analyst to be part of its diverse, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of Fidelity's Institutional Client Platforms and Products in the rapidly growing and evolving Wealth Management space.

The focus of this position will involve analysis and support of existing and emerging Managed & Advisory products and tools. The systems analyst will need to collaborate extensively with other squads within the same product area and domain as well as across the enterprise working with a varied set of business and technology partners. They will be a key member of an agile delivery squad and will be actively involved in all aspects of the technical product vision and design. The individual will gain a deep end-to-end understanding of the existing Managed applications and business to assist in developing requirements and design for updated and emerging technology solutions.

The Team

FIT exists to enable our business partners to win their respective marketplaces by crafting, building, and maintaining the technology platforms and products of Fidelity's Institutional business units. The FI Wealth Management Domain sits within FIT. The Managed & Advisory Solutions team that works with the broader Wealth Management Domain team has a focus on creating & supporting the products that enable managed product distribution (both on and off platform).

In this role, you'll work in Fidelity Institutional (FI) to provide systems analysis support on the fast-paced Managed & Advisory Solutions team. You'll make a large impact on the organization by helping solve for and drive solutions to complex and important business problems for our clients.

  • Leading and contributing to new product technical visioning and high-quality solutions
  • Understanding and working towards scalable technical solutions
  • Examination and analysis of existing IT systems and business models to identify requirements, impacts and dependencies
  • Assistance in defining scope and work sequencing based on analysis of requirements of new and existing systems
  • Writing user stories which include concise and clear system requirements that will be used to implement any of the following: API creation/updates, new data stores/updates to existing data stores and user interfaces, UI design/enhancement
  • Producing use case documents and functional solutions to achieve project goals
  • Developing subject matter expertise for the product area and broader domain
  • Participation in the development and review of test plans, including end-to-end strategies
  • Participation in and leading various initiatives in support of evolving and growing the Technical Chapter and Chapter Area

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 8-10+ years of Systems and Data Analysis experience within the IT field, financial services preferred
  • Experience in data analysis, data modelling and hands on experience in Oracle/Postgres/other relational databases.
  • Knowledge of ETL (Informatica/Snaplogic), BI, Data feeds, Data governance preferred
  • Knowledge of API Development & Testing, AWS (Cloud) Implementation, Data Design is required and UI Design and Workflow/Process Automation is strongly preferred
  • Experience in Snowflake data warehousing and analytics preferred
  • Experience in designing, managing, and troubleshooting batch processing systems for large-scale data workflows across cloud-based and on-prem environments.
  • Experience with systems development methodologies and formal documentation processes, Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience is required
  • Bachelor's degree required. Technology-related field preferred
  • You have strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly-matrixed environment, involving multiple partners, technical groups, COEs, squads, product areas and domains
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple applications and integrations
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cross functional teams
  • You are a technical problem solver, who can work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, engaging, collaborating and supporting capabilities across-product areas and domains
  • Proactive, with a strong desire to learn and become a contributor to a highly functioning team.
  • Proven understanding of the financial services industry, attained through training and application experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, communication, leadership and influence.
  • Adaptable and agile, can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and make project adjustments to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Can navigate the organization & build strong networks in order to successfully accomplish your work.

The base salary range for this position is $89,000-180,000 USD per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
