Job Description:
Director of Architecture, DC Product Platforms
We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to partner with our business and engineering teams to evolve and improve our recordkeeping ecosystem - ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and platform stability. In this leadership role you will champion innovation in Software Architecture, drive standardization, and deliver technology solutions. You will help craft the product roadmap in alignment with business goals. Additionally, you will collaborate with other Architects to formulate strategy and lead all aspects of the design, implement and deployment of end-to-end solutions.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10+ years of industry experience in architecting distributed systems and applications.
- 3+ years of Azure and/or AWS experience. AWS and/or Azure certification also a plus
- Demonstrable ability to analyze business direction and problems, understand long term vision and risk in developing strategic technical solutions.
- Authoritative knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, infrastructure, data architecture, security, and new technologies with clear expertise in one or more of these areas.
- Working knowledge of technical architecture (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization)
- Authoritative understanding of the agile development process and DevOps practices.
- Background with multiple enterprise technologies
- Collaborating with peer architects seeing opportunities to refactor business processes, improve customer experience or perform capability rationalization.
- Ability to work both independently and with various levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical team members.
- Ensure technology decisions align with enterprise standards and strategy.
- Strong presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills for working with less-technical business partners as well as technologists in IT leadership and implementation teams.
- Experience in networking across business units and outside the companies to optimize new reusable processes, patterns, and practices.

- Understanding of mainframe technology desired but not needed
- Mainframe modernization experience desirable.
- Financial industry / Benefit administration industry experience is a plus.

By working closely with Solution Architects and Agile teams, you will assess and ensure how proposed solutions to specific initiatives align with broader WI goals and strategies.
