Job Title - Lead - Software Engineering

The Purpose of This Role

This position is a part of the Stock Plan Services Prod Support Team within the WI business unit. The candidate will be engaged in ensuring the operational stability of the SPS Mainframe Application. This candidate will participate in system monitoring, installing fixes, Level 2 Problem Analysis, Incident troubleshooting and resolution, problem management, and ensuring operational standards adherence.

The Value You Deliver

Product Stability: Directly collaborate with a large, cross-functional, global team. Maintain stability of the production environment providing Level 2 support for overnight batch and provide support for the business teams by analyzing product software for the incidents tickets, service requests. Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical (primary)

  • You must possess strong background on COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endeavor ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities.
  • Analysis of complex mainframe programs is a must skill.
  • You must be experienced in maintaining systems in the MVS mainframe environment.
  • You should have worked in production support Mainframe application.
  • You should be able to negotiate, influence and work with business peers and management.
  • You should have experience of working in an agile environment
  • Provide root cause analysis of the Incidents raised by Business partners
  • Strong analytical skills to review batch cycle trends and initiate performance improvement steps for better SLA adherence

Technical (secondary)

  • Knowledge in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge on Micro-Services Architecture concepts and emerging patterns such as APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP).

Behavioral Skills

  • You should possess exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • You should possess highly proficient written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Connect with business partners on critical incidents and work with development teams to provide technical roadmap
  • Participate in small to large initiatives ranging from application incident resolution work to project related tasks.
  • Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly, and have the ability to learn through independent research.

Stock Plan Mainframe production support group, which is part of Workplace Investing (WI) business unit, is responsible for all transaction related activities in mainframe system. This team is responsible for solving customer reported issues in quick turnaround.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic/practical experience.
  • 6-9 years of IT industry experience with Mainframe production support experience
  • Application support and maintenance experience is must.
  • Good understanding of the financial services industry.

Location: Chennai

Shift timings: 11:00 am - 8:00pm
