The Role
Fidelity is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Head of Fidelity Health (FH) Architecture to lead the evolution of our technical foundation in support of our expanding Health & Welfare (H&W), Health Savings Account (HSA), Reimbursement Account (RA), Fidelity Medicare Services (FMS), and Integrated Digital Experience platforms. In this leadership position, you will play a central role in defining the architectural strategy for secure, scalable, and reliable systems that manage Protected Health Information (PHI) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) data, enabling a flawless digital healthcare experience!
As a key member of the technology leadership team, you will collaborate with executive partners, product managers, engineers, and compliance authorities to design innovative solutions that meet stringent healthcare regulations while driving innovation, scalability, reliability, and operational agility. This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on architectural direction, and team mentorship. The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams, communicating architectural decisions clearly and effectively to diverse audiences!
- 4+ years in a senior architectural or technical leadership role, directly responsible for designing secure and scalable systems.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to engage in technical discussions, conduct design/code reviews, and provide implementation guidance when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, support team development, and drive architecture alignment in a growing technology organization.
- Experience designing and deploying systems that handle PHI/HIPAA, including robust approaches to encryption, access controls, data segmentation, and audit logging.
- Good grasp of secure architecture principles across cloud-based and hybrid environments, particularly in regulated context.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure for secure and compliant recordkeeping platforms (e.g., databases, identity and access management, logging/monitoring).
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for scalable, customer-facing applications and Experience APIs.
- Solid knowledge of DevSecOps practices, automated security testing, and continuous compliance monitoring in CI/CD environments.
The Team
This leadership role, supports the Fidelity Health business within Workplace Investing (WI). In this role you will provide direction and implementation to the experiences that enable our users end-to-end healthcare success. As part of the team, your work enables functionality developed throughout the firm to reach these clients and participants and create high-value interactions that keep them digitally engaged. Additionally, as part of the team, you will affect the technical solutions' speed, efficacy, and scale to serve our users through forward-looking architectural designs and hands-on implementation.
