Workplace Investing (WI) is Fidelity's retirement services business which helps over 24k employers lead a successful benefits program, to improve overall well-being to over 43 million employees. WI offers a broad range of integrated financial, health, and benefits solutions and provides innovative technology, strategic collaboration, exceptional service, and an engaging employee experience. The Workplace Retirement Product Platforms Domain exists to focus on and deliver upon the core retirement product and platform capabilities needed by Clients and their Participants. The Domain focuses on four major tenets in operating principles and design decisions:

  • Delivering Customer Value: Listening and adapting to our customers (Sponsors and Participants) needs to deliver the best retirement experience
  • Enabling Growth: Developing new capabilities to attract prospects and enable us to enter new markets
  • Driving Scale and Efficiency: The opportunity to bring value in our markets with reducing unit costs
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Celebrating differing voices and perspectives in our products and people.

As the WI Domain Leader for Retirement Product Platforms, you blend broad product and technology management expertise with an obsession for delivering business partner and customer value. You will set the strategic direction for the Domain and ensure continued alignment and prioritization in the work being delivered. You will collaborate with other leaders to align on and prioritize strategic objectives and initiatives within your business and across Fidelity.

Within an agile structure, you will be responsible for a group of Product Area Leaders, Chapter Areas, and Teams, oriented around strategic goals, customer segments, business partner or customer experiences, products and platforms. You will lead a team of senior product leaders who are focused on driving increased value through cross-functional squads consisting of dedicated chapter members with center of excellence support, as needed. As a Domain leader you will empower these Product leaders and associates to maximize value delivered through prioritization, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and decision making.

The Team

The Retirement Product Platforms Domain Leader manages a team of Product Leaders and will work in partnership with other Domain and senior leaders across Fidelity. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors you will evolve and sustain an innovative agile culture.

  • Lead the core vision and strategy for retirement product platform capabilities
  • Responding to the needs of our customers, and the market, industry, and regulatory changes by continuously evolving and aligning strategic priorities
  • Proactively partnering with other Domains, Product Areas, Chapter Area, CoE and Team leaders to:
    • understand the needs of customers and business partners
    • establish objectives and critical metrics that align with and enable delivery of strategic priorities and measure performance against agreed upon business, technology, financial, and people results
    • evaluate capacity needs and ensure access to and the best utilization of resources through alignment of ongoing prioritization, evolution of the domain

mission and customer sentiment and feedback

  • remove impediments to delivering on strategic priorities and value
  • Dynamic and inspiring Agile leader with a proven record of developing a strong culture and focusing on the development of a tenured team of professionals
  • Encouraging continuous learning and development, a growth mindset and increased skill proficiency; shares relevant insights, knowledge, and developments across the Domain
  • Directing innovative retirement product growth strategies as part of Fidelity's highest critical initiatives and attracting new customers, growing revenue, driving efficiency, and enhancing technology platforms.
  • Provide thought leadership in partnership with Government Affairs to advocate on behalf of Fidelity and its customers

The Skills You Bring

  • You are an experienced leader and an inspirational people leader, skilled at setting strategic direction across multiple products, segments, and experiences, and empowering, motivating and aligning others to deliver results to achieve that strategy
  • You have executive level experience leading the development of broad, complex, innovative retirement product solutions and offerings aligned with and in support of the strategic direction of the organization
  • You have effective communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage externally with customers and internally, across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization
  • You have a passion for developing associates and an ability to attract and retain high performing individuals and teams, and a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to create a psychologically safe culture that drives debate and encourages all levels to challenge each other for the betterment of our business and our clients.
  • You have a continuous improvement approach and enable an agile way of working
  • You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
  • You have strong resource and financial management competence and successfully establish and maintain alignment with budget commitments
  • Dedication to serving our Retirement Plan Sponsors and Participants; listening to clients' feedback and driving higher level of engagement, simplifying their end-to-end experiences, and engaging them in a collaborative manner to set them up for better outcomes

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses required
  • 15+ years of Retirement product/leadership experience
  • Experienced Agile leader who is passionate about the retirement business and ensures the right culture, structure, process and people are in place to achieve business results
  • Senior level experience leading multiple cross-functional teams across various products and technology platforms
  • Experience engaging with executive and senior (C-suite) internal and external customers and partners
  • Experience defining and leading sophisticated products and programs within the domain and across the business
  • Financial services experience

Series 07 - FINRA, Series 24 - FINRA, Series 63 - FINRA

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
