Job Description:

The FIFT organization crafts all the technology systems used in Fixed Income for the Bond and Money Market product areas. FIFT also handles common trading services and systems used for Finance and Fund Oversight. The applications and services we provide enable investment decision making, portfolio management, and trading for combined assets under management of nearly $2 trillion. Through our Agile practices, we have developed an operating rhythm that ensures we are consistently delivering the highest value work for our customers and partners. We work on a wide variety of technologies including AWS, Angular, Java, Python, REST/API, PL/SQL, HTML and Kafka.We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead Fixed Income Bond Trading technology teams in the US. This individual will partner closely with various business and global technology teams, in addition to the broader AMT organization to deliver best-in-class products supporting our investment professionals.

The Expertise We are Looking For

  • Be Collaborative: Work in partnership with our business users, AM Architecture, Data Services Compliance and Operations (DSCO) and other AM/Fidelity enterprise teams to design and build end-to-end solutions for Fixed Income Bond Trading
  • Be Strategic: Provide strategic direction to successfully deliver against our consolidated, multi-year product and technology roadmap
  • Influence Others: Partner with peer Chapter Leaders across AMT, Architecture, Common Platform Solutions (CPS), etc. to drive incremental change and improvement into how we work to improve our ability to deliver value and reduce friction in our processes
  • Lead the team: As a Chapter Lead for multiple Squads, help manage priorities and provide direction, technical expertise, and engineering excellence. Act as a single point of accountability for engineering practices and ensure appropriate governance is in place
  • Inspire Others: Demonstrate a passion for software engineering and tap into the expertise of the engineering team. Create and foster an environment of creativity and innovation that supports the delivery of business value through scale and efficiency, business growth and/or investment performance

The Skills You Bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of software engineering and development experience
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Proven successful experience as an engineering coach and mentor as well as developing emerging leaders to their full potential; demonstrated ability to lead from the front, and to motivate and empower your team to deliver
  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns and their application; Understands and applies fundamental design principles behind scalable, low-latency/high-throughput distributed applications
  • Leading software development teams in the creation and enhancement of high-quality technology solutions with low cost of ownership; Our full-stack engineers work in the Scrum framework, primarily working with Java, Angular, Oracle, PL/SQL, Python and Kafka in a cloud environment
  • Experience resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations
  • Financial services experience in Asset Management preferred
