The Role
As a strategic leader within Fidelity's Workplace Investing (WI) Client Engagement Group, the Director of Health Care Competitive Insights will drive market and competitive intelligence across the health and welfare (H&W) benefits administration sector and adjacent workplace solutions (e.g., retirement, FSAs). This role is instrumental in shaping business strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and mitigating competitive threats through data-driven insights. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a seasoned insights professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated by influencing business outcomes through research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end competitive and market intelligence for the H&W benefits outsourcing space.
- Analyze competitor strategies, offerings, technologies, and value-added services.
- Forecast market trends, regulatory shifts, and evolving employee needs-especially around the employee experience.
- Deliver executive-ready insights via presentations, dashboards, and reports that inform product, sales, and marketing strategies.
- Partner with product teams to shape roadmaps, identify innovation opportunities, and address market gaps.
- Develop insights-driven narratives to support go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, and client retention.
- Align research priorities with strategic business goals and stakeholder needs.
- Provide competitive enablement and deal support to client-facing teams; collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Thought Leadership to refine external positioning.
- Manage third-party research vendors and data providers to enhance intelligence capabilities.
- Monitor and contextualize market developments; lead internal communications including newsletters and stakeholder updates.
Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in market research, strategy, or competitive intelligence within H&W benefits outsourcing or consulting industries.
- BA/BS degree required, MS/MBA or JD preferred.
- Deep knowledge of the H&W benefits landscape; experience with leading providers or consultancies preferred. Familiarity with HRIS, HCM platforms, and emerging technologies (AI, automation, cloud) in HR/benefits.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; adept in CI/MI methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience applying strategic frameworks (e.g., SWOT, scenario planning, benchmarking).
- Ability to synthesize diverse data sources into actionable insights.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity through strategic judgment.
