We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Individual Contributor Director Engineer to drive engineering excellence, innovation, and delivery across our common platform technology stack. This role combines deep full-stack engineering expertise with strategic leadership to shape the future of our application architecture and UI/UX platform strategy across Asset Management.

As an individual contributor Director Engineer, you will demonstrate strategic understanding of asset management business priorities and drive technical decisions with broad scope to solve complex system-level challenges. You will work closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute our technical strategy, set high standards for engineering excellence, and shape the future of our application architecture while mentoring senior engineers across multiple teams.

This highly strategic and technical role is ideal for a seasoned technologist who excels at designing large-scale platforms and mentoring engineering teams without direct management responsibilities. You will lead the design of scalable, secure, and reliable APIs, microservices, orchestration layers, and business logic components across multiple teams, while defining and evolving our front-end foundation to enable product teams to build consistent, accessible, and performant user interfaces.

Our team works on cutting-edge full-stack platforms, middle-tier architecture, and front-end systems that power diverse digital products across the enterprise.

The Expertise You Bring

Full-Stack Engineering Leadership

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years operating at principal engineer or architect level or above
  • Deep expertise in middle-tier tech stacks: Java Spring Boot, Python Flask, Node.js, and related cloud-native patterns
  • Front-end platform expertise: 12+ years in Angular, React.js, and TypeScript, including platform-scale UI development
  • Proven experience designing middle-tier architecture at scale with strong grasp of microservices, REST/WebSocket/gRPC APIs, and asynchronous messaging patterns

Platform & System Design Excellence

  • Enterprise Modernization Leadership: Experience leading platform convergence, tech rationalization efforts, or enterprise-wide modernization initiatives
  • API & Microservices Mastery: Lead the design of scalable, secure, and reliable APIs, microservices, orchestration layers, and business logic components
  • Multi-tenant Platform Experience: Proven experience building and governing enterprise-grade design systems across multiple product teams
  • Performance & Scalability: Expertise in system performance, optimization, distributed systems, caching strategies, and fault-tolerant design

Modern Development Practices

  • DevOps & CI/CD Integration: Solid understanding of modern DevOps practices including CI/CD, containers, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and logging
  • Web-scale Real-time Systems: Exposure to GraphQL, serverless architecture, or real-time streaming (Kafka, Pulsar)
