We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Individual Contributor Director Engineer to drive engineering excellence, innovation, and delivery across our common platform technology stack. This role combines deep full-stack engineering expertise with strategic leadership to shape the future of our application architecture and UI/UX platform strategy across Asset Management.

As an individual contributor Director Engineer, you will demonstrate strategic understanding of asset management business priorities and drive technical decisions with broad scope to solve complex system-level challenges. You will work closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute our technical strategy, set high standards for engineering excellence, and shape the future of our application architecture while mentoring senior engineers across multiple teams.

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years operating at principal engineer or architect level or above
• Deep expertise in middle-tier tech stacks: Java Spring Boot, Python Flask, Node.js, and related cloud-native patterns
• Front-end platform expertise: 12+ years in Angular, React.js, and TypeScript, including platform-scale UI development
• Proven experience designing middle-tier architecture at scale with strong grasp of microservices, REST/WebSocket/gRPC APIs, and asynchronous messaging patterns

• Enterprise Modernization Leadership: Experience leading platform convergence, tech rationalization efforts, or enterprise-wide modernization initiatives
• API & Microservices Mastery: Lead the design of scalable, secure, and reliable APIs, microservices, orchestration layers, and business logic components
• Multi-tenant Platform Experience: Proven experience building and governing enterprise-grade design systems across multiple product teams
• Performance & Scalability: Expertise in system performance, optimization, distributed systems, caching strategies, and fault-tolerant design

• DevOps & CI/CD Integration: Solid understanding of modern DevOps practices including CI/CD, containers, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and logging
• Web-scale Real-time Systems: Exposure to GraphQL, serverless architecture, or real-time streaming (Kafka, Pulsar)
• Component Architecture: Strong knowledge of component-based architecture, state management, responsive design, and accessibility

• Design System Leadership: Lead development and governance of multi-tenant design systems (tokens, components, theming, accessibility) supporting diverse brands and contexts
• Internal Developer Enablement: Experience enabling internal teams through UI tooling, design tokens, and shared libraries with clear versioning strategies

• Emerging Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools that align with product goals
• System Thinking Excellence: Excellent systems thinking - able to design for reuse, flexibility, and long-term maintainability
• Design-to-Code Pipeline: Partner with design, product, and platform engineering teams to create seamless design-to-code pipeline, improving efficiency and fidelity

• Global Platform Scalability: Ensure the platform can scale globally across regions, brands, and teams with thoughtful abstractions and minimal duplication
• CI/CD Integration: Embed UX platform capabilities into CI/CD pipelines including visual regression testing, linting, and automated accessibility checks

• Technical Mentorship: Lead by influence, mentor senior engineers, conduct design reviews, and grow technical leadership within the organization
• Community Building: Mentor technical leads and designers and contribute to a community of practice around front-end architecture and design systems
• Standards & Best Practices: Define best practices in system design, API development, observability, resilience, and software craftsmanship
