The Role
Fidelity Investments Workplace Solutions (WS) organization is looking for a Director, Full Stack Engineer to support our Equity Compensation Recordkeeping and Information Delivery Platform. We are looking for a person who has hands-on experience building high resiliency capabilities that include rules-based , real-time recordkeeping, reporting and business intelligence features on a modernized cloud-ready stack. The successful candidate will have a deep passion for artificial intelligence, innovative cloud technologies, and the creation of high-impact solutions.
You will be an Engineering Lead in a cross-functional team of architects, developers, analysts, quality engineers and product owners. As part of our dynamic technology team, you will play a pivotal role in defining the strategic technical direction for our products.

- Establish standards and ensure alignment with existing technology roadmaps.
- Remove barriers to deliver value and drive progress.
- Work with the team to enhance application scalability, stability, and resilience.
- Design, develop, and modify complex systems.
- Collaborate with Product Leaders and Architects to establish non-functional requirements for scale and performance.
- Define an end-to-end performance testing strategy and address test data needs for scalability.
The Expertise/Skills You Bring and the Value You Deliver
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
- 12+ years experience with technology roles, specializing in the development and engineering implementation of new technologies, preferably within financial or high-tech environments (currently hands-on) in Java/J2EE, Spring framework (Batch framework), Angular, API Development (REST), Rules Engine (DROOLS)
- 3+ years hands-on experience in working with Cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure preferred) - features like Azure ASB, Azure functions, Azure Gateway, File Storage etc.
- 6+ years of strong development experience in RDBMS development (Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server) and demonstrated work with DBAs in advanced performance tuning
- Experience with GITHUB Copilot or similar GEN AI tools
- Experience with designing and building event driven, multi-threaded, high data volume processing applications.
- Experience with & good understanding of ETL technologies (Informatica, Kafka)
- Experience with Spring Batch framework, JMS (IBM MQ, Active MQ, Azure ASB, Kafka etc.)
- Proven ability to prioritize and deliver in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience designing IT architecture and facilitating change reviews, release management, and infrastructure change schedules.
- Great communication skills and ability to articulate complex system concepts to non-technical audiences
- Very good understanding of Software design and architectural patterns
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum model
- Ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of SDLC best practices
- Lead design, code reviews, unit testing, integration and performance testing.
- Providing knowledge and experience through insights and great ideas
The Team
You will be part of the technology team in Stock Plan Services business unit that coordinates equity compensation programs on behalf of public and private companies offering various compensations programs such as: Employee Stock Purchase Plans, Restricted Stock Awards/Units, Stock Option Plans, Stock Appreciation Rights and Performance based Awards. Currently SPS services approx. 2M participants employed by over 300 clients and spread out in 150 countries. The business is looking to further expand in the international equity compensation markets. As part of that we are modernizing our legacy reporting and business intelligence platform to provide data and reports in real-time running on cloud-ready stack.
