The Role

As Director, Corporate Reputation Management and Crisis Communications - External Communications, you will help lead enterprise-wide crisis communications strategies, monitoring and preparedness as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop messaging and statements, counsel and advise leadership, and execute strategies. You also will act as a Fidelity corporate spokesperson on issues that relate directly to Fidelity, the financial services industry and the general social environment.

The Team

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Reputation Management, you will join a resolute team that touches all parts of Fidelity's diversified financial services business and is considered a valued asset on an ongoing basis and at critical junctures. The Corporate Reputation Management Team is part of Fidelity's Corporate Affairs Newsroom which drives greater awareness and understanding of Fidelity and its priorities by influencing stakeholders. Critical thinking, working fast within rapidly changing landscapes, anticipation of business needs, leadership counsel and being one step ahead are all hallmarks of this group. Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related course of study, but not required
  • 10-12+ years of relevant experience in the communications/public relations fields, with a preference for at least five of those in crisis communications
  • Financial services communications experience preferred, but not required
  • Proven record of managing the monitoring and reporting processes, developing issues communications plans and leading preparedness programs
  • Monitoring for issues that have potential impact to ensure constant awareness of potential risks
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, related influencers, monitoring and experience working with inhouse social media teams
  • Experience working with key internal stakeholders such as business continuity, cyber security and threat intelligence
  • Solid collaboration, planning, tactical and listening skills to establish relationships within Corporate Affairs, supporting teams and Fidelity's business units to maximize strategies for optimal outcomes in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Established media relationships and a proven ability to quickly develop them in order to engage with influential media on critical issues
  • Skilled at managing multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity's high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance
  • Exceptional writing, editing, presentation and research skills

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$144,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
