We are seeking an exceptional Individual Contributor Director Engineer to lead our cloud platform engineering initiatives. This is a high-autonomy IC role focused on solving complex cross-functional and cross-domain engineering problems while driving technical excellence across asset management business unit.
As an IC Director Engineer, you will demonstrate strategic understanding of asset management priorities and drive technical decisions with broad scope to solve critical business problems. You will assess and define problem spaces before product teams define requirements, possessing strong technical experience, risk assessment capabilities, and the ability to navigate different perspectives and priorities. This role connects strategic objectives set by senior leadership with the technical work delivered by engineering teams.
You will work on complex software engineering problems, implementing the highest quality technology solutions while providing context and technical direction. Your focus will be on defining technical solutions, documenting processes, and ensuring engineering excellence through hands-on technical leadership.

The Expertise You Bring
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- 12+ years of experience in software infrastructure or platform engineering, including 5+ years of deep experience with AWS Services and Kubernetes
- Deep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes ecosystem: EKS, Helm, ArgoCD, autoscaling, resource limits/quotas, and operator frameworks (e.g., KEDA)
- AWS Architecture Mastery: VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, and security best practices
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK
- Cloud Modernization Leadership: Proven experience leading multi-region deployment or enterprise-wide platform transformation efforts
Platform & DevSecOps Excellence
- FinOps & Cost Optimization: Champion FinOps principles with expertise in cost governance, resource optimization, and usage transparency across engineering teams
- Security & Compliance: Good understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and operational maturity (PCI, SOC2, resilience patterns)
- DevSecOps Integration: Partner with security, platform, and engineering teams to drive best practices including IaC, policy-as-code, and supply chain security
- CI/CD & Observability: Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for Kubernetes, ingress/egress controls, observability, and CI/CD pipelines
Emerging Technologies & Innovation
- Cloud-Native Technologies: Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies, improving developer velocity, platform stability, and cost efficiency
- Multi-Cloud Strategy: Drive global consistency in infrastructure design, multi-account strategies, networking patterns, and identity models across regions
