Director, Brokerage Data Architect
Job Description
At Fidelity Brokerage, we are seeking an accomplished Data Architect to join the Brokerage Solution Architecture team to define the strategy for scalable, cloud-based data architectures in support of the retail brokerage customer experience. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams, solution architects, and enterprise leaders to standardize solutions, drive modernization, and align technology with business goals.
The Expertise You Have
An ideal candidate will have experience defining and promoting data architecture strategies, patterns, standards, and guidelines. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate strong technical leadership across complex projects and initiatives, with a proven ability to guide the adoption of cloud-native data solutions and modern data integration patterns. A deep understanding of data-driven decision-making and domain modeling is essential, along with a commitment to reusable architectural practices. Candidates should also have experience leading Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Familiarity with data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance is required.

The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in distributed systems, including 3+ years with cloud databases.
- Experience in the financial services and Brokerage domain is a plus
- Expertise in relational, distributed SQL (CockroachDB, YugabyteDB), NoSQL, in-memory databases, data warehouses (Snowflake) and Kafka streaming.
- Proven ability to architect high-volume, high-performance transactional systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, EC2, EMR, S3) and hybrid environments.
- Experience building scalable data solutions (OLTP, ODS, MDM, data warehousing & analytics platforms).
- Ability to evaluate and recommend emerging cloud data technologies.
- Hands-on experience in logical and physical data modeling
- Experience with data movement (ETL, ELT) technologies
- Strategic thinker with strong technical leadership and agile delivery experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Familiarity with legal, risk, compliance, and cybersecurity standards.
