DeFi Ecosystem Lead
Come join the Quantitative Strategies and Research group within Fidelity Digital Assets℠ to help grow our business initiatives within DeFi and contribute to our research capabilities using your insights.
The Role
To support the development of research and potential new products, our team is looking for an ecosystem lead who can help navigate the DeFi ecosystem. The successful candidate will have an institutional background, be passionate about new technologies and enjoy building relationships with founders in the field. The role will focus on identifying new protocols, chains and systems that are suitable and fit for purpose as well as maintaining our current relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a business development background and be knowledgeable of the latest trends in the crypto space.
It will be very important for a candidate to be intellectually curious, have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and be able to actively engage ecosystem participants through multiple channels.
- Lead our ecosystem engagement and create a roadmap to increase our understanding of the ecosystem.
- Systematically screen a high volume of start-up pitches and differentiate them from their competitors and raise relevant ones to management.
- Methodically cultivate, maintain, and nurture relationships with current and future creators, founders, infrastructure providers, and other relevant industry players.
- Provide valuable input on protocols/vendors that could have a direct impact on our roadmap and business goals.
- Work cross-functionally within the team to optimize our engagement goals.
- Compile well-documented notes, create tracking statistics and metrics using a professional CRM.
- Create weekly/monthly summary reports for our team and senior-level stakeholders.
- Collaborate with an international team on strategy and future development objectives.
- Catalogue and classify protocols using our internal DeFi ecosystem map.
- Conduct preliminary SWOT analysis on engaged protocols with a clear identification of risks and suitability for our current roadmap.
- Attend relevant physical and virtual conferences and summits.
- Actively engage the DeFi ecosystem to have the most up to date information on protocol and vendor updates.
- Be able to form opinions and viewpoints on DeFi protocols and L1/2 chains and emerging technologies for present and future use at Fidelity.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a STEM subject.
3-5 yrs+ of experience working in technology, financial services, crypto, or business development.
Comfortable engaging with external counterparties, conference attendance and networking.
Working knowledge of crypto, open to new ideas and passionate to learn.
Positive attitude and self-motivated with the ability to operate independently with a strong work ethic.
Excellent team management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as attention to detail.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as this role requires frequent communication to members of our team and external vendors/protocols.
