The Role

The Associate Financial Analyst (AFA) will be responsible for all financial elements within the end-to-end lifecycle of sales deals and contract renewals in the broker-dealer and bank segments of the Fidelity Brokerage Operations and Technology business! Typically this process would include in-depth financial analysis to determine if a given deal meets profitability requirements, interaction and engagement with FI senior management throughout the deal escalation process, and the structuring of the pricing sections in the final client contract.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 0-2 years of financial analysis work experience
  • Strong MS Excel financial modeling skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent training
  • Understanding of valuation concepts including NPV, IRR, and Return on Invested Capital
  • Familiarity with the financial advisory business model, as well as products and services involved in the brokerage business
  • The ability to work with large amounts of data; experience with Business Objects or other database tools a plus
  • Be able to broadly apply financial and accounting principles to a variety of standard and ad-hoc analysis
  • Quickly learn multiple financial data and reporting systems and navigate them simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively and confidently communicate findings to more senior levels within the organization
  • Manage multiple/competing projects
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and decision-ready financial information to our business partners
  • The ability to go above and beyond the base level of analysis to deliver pricing strategy and guidance to our sales and relationship management partner

The Team

This role is a member of the Clearing Pricing team within the Client Relationship Group Finance team and specifically supports the pricing efforts of the correspondent broker-dealer and bank custody business lines, which are hyper-competitive and continuously evolving market segments. Analysts in the group play a critical role in contract negotiations related to both existing and prospective clients by working closely with Relationship Management, Sales, Product, and Platform specialists to develop and evaluate various pricing strategies and value business opportunities.
