M-F 07:00 start INDMS POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for the development and overall day to day operation of the Contractor Relations and Fleet Maintenance team, while mitigating risk and ensuring legal compliance. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide overall direction and support to Contractor Relations and Fleet Maintenance team including selection, education, development and motivation 2. Ensure day to day duties of Contractor Relations and Fleet Maintenance functions are completed timely and accurately 3. Lead employees to ensure timely onboarding of drivers and the completion of all licensing requirements 4. Develop and maintain Contractor Relations and Fleet Maintenance policies and procedures and audit compliance 5. Develop contractor and vendor communications 6. Ensure all company equipment is serviced timely 7. Negotiate Maintenance Service Agreement (MSA) rates 8. Review operating contracts/pay schedules to ensure FXFC remains industry competitive 9. Assist with conflict resolution with regards to contracts, postings and operational needs 10. Collect and analyze information to determine reasons for contractor turnover, take action as required 11. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures 12. Perform other duties as required BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years directly related work experience • Five (5) years transportation experience to include two (2) years of leadership/supervisory experience • Valid Driver’s License Required • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Governmental Transportation Regulations and others as needed • Demonstrated experience and ability to lead organizational and cross-sector teams • Decisive, consultative, inclusive leadership style OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and supervisory skills • Strong verbal and written skills • Bilingual (English/French) – an asset • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook) • Willingness to travel; flexibility and adaptability to working environment\ • Intermediate computer skills (Work, Excel, Internet, Outlook) WORKING CONDITIONS: • Frequent overnight travel required DISCLAIMER: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.
