Job Description

In this compelling leadership position, you will ensure the implementation, management, and ongoing oversight of efforts on monitoring financial markets and initiating transactions to capitalize on opportunities tied to the business strategy. You will develop and oversee the implementation of strategies for analyzing financial market data and determining trends or patterns, oversee trade or transaction activity, develop and manage the implementation of strategies to transfer a portion of credit risk to private capital, and establish pricing according to the associated risk of the asset.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Multifamily Senior Director Capital Markets role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Proactively trade all DUS Agency CMBS sectors (including single pool securities, GEMs, Megas, whole loans, and derivatives).
  • Actively engage with broker dealers to facilitate transactions and gather market intelligence.
  • Monitor Agency Mortgage and CMBS market trends to identify trading opportunities and risks.
  • Appropriately size, understand, and manage both position and portfolio risk.
  • Enhance the reputation of the firm through expertise, professionalism, and maturity in verbal and written communications.
  • Build and leverage partnerships to deliver the whole firm to clients.
  • Manage, mentor, and provide guidance to junior traders and analysts, particularly in understanding market dynamics.
  • Provide liquidity to our clients/lenders in the DUS ecosystem.
  • Own and manage the market risk exposure of your trading positions.
  • Support Capital Markets in distributing new issues (GEMs and CRT transactions), secondary trading, and investor outreach.
  • Generate trade ideas for the portfolio.
  • Structure new issue GEMs transactions, manage sales syndicate, and ensure profitability.
  • Provide management with strategic insights into the ACMBS market ensuring the optimal utilization of capital and execution.
  • Creatively solve issues often without complete information and certainty of outcome.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences:

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in trading, with a focus on Agency MF products.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience trading multifamily or single-family mortgage-backed derivatives.
  • Proven track record of successful trading, risk management, and strategy development in Agency MF products.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Agency CMBS industry with familiarity of the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and GNMA executions, non-Agency CMBS, and CLO markets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Experience modeling deals in Intex.
  • Familiarity with ACMBS/CMBS risk and prepay modeling and model development.
  • Experience hedging with derivatives, futures, and cash instruments.

Desired Experiences:

  • CFA or MBA Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in trading, with a focus on Agency MF products.

Target Salary Range: $252,000 - $341,000 a year

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
