    The Enterprise Data - Data Engineering - Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

    Fannie Mae seeks Data Engineering-Manager - Reston, VA

    • Lead the team in the development of data infrastructures and pipelines to capture, integrate, organize, and centralize data while testing and ensuring data is readily accessible and in a usable state, including quality assurance.
    • Lead the team to organize and integrate data into readily available formats while maintaining existing structures and govern their use according to business requirements.
    • Lead the team in the analysis of new data sources and monitoring of performance, scalability, and security of data.
    • Manage customer needs and intended uses for requested data in the development of database requirements and planning of enterprise databases. Determine the needs of diverse and complex customer groups requiring applied understanding of strategic issues of importance to the function/initiative.
    • Scale and coach multiple teams in parallel on their Cloud migration and adoption journeys.
    • Assist with initiatives supporting Digital Transformation.
    • Determine technical requirements of pending or current projects and assess how development objectives can best be met using current staff and resources.
    • Assign and manage staff assigned to particular projects and provide technical oversight as needed.
    • Hire, manage, mentor and develop, and evaluate staff. Ensure continued technical and professional development of staff and provide ongoing technical guidance and direction.
    • Ensure that projects are conducted in accord with the organization's structured methodology and standards.

    This is a hybrid (work in office and at home) position.

    Qualifications

    Req'd:

    Master's Degree in Computer Science plus 5 years' experience in large enterprise data warehouse application development for financial services companies. Experience must include 5 years in leading the development of large enterprise data infrastructure and pipelines using AWS technologies (including Cloud Formation, S3, Elastic Container Service, IAM, Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch, VPC, Secrets Manager, Splunk), JIRA, Java, JavaScript, JSON, Jenkins, Oracle Database, Python, SQL, Agile practices. Experience must also include 5 years of leading teams on large and complex projects, overseeing team members' works on technical content, and mentoring less experienced team members.
