Job Description
As a valued contributor to our team, you will advise team members on developing a policy framework and implementing changes that align with Fannie Mae's strategy and mission. In this role, you will ensure policies reflect the appropriate risk tolerance and compliance with all relevant regulatory guidance, drive policy alignment within digital strategies, and as well as provide guidance on internal policies, business standards, and regulatory interpretation.

- Refine the enterprise's credit risk and underwriting policies.
- Support digital and strategic initiatives by ensuring underwriting policies are clearly defined, aligned, and consistently applied across digital platforms.
- Analyze and develop policies in a holistic manner to ensure alignment with the evolving regulatory, competitive, and economic landscape.
- Provide policy support and expertise on broader corporate initiatives that further Fannie Mae's strategic mission and enable innovation.
- Analyze emerging risks, market trends, and regulatory changes to ensure our policies reflect the risks and opportunities presented in the current environment.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication of Fannie Mae's policies through authoring formal policy communications and supporting collateral.
- Consider, where applicable, relevant enterprise systems and processes to develop optimal policy guidance.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences:
- 4 years related experience in the primary or secondary mortgage market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present appropriately for varied audiences at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience collaborating across different functional areas to achieve a common goal
- Ability to gather accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to balance multiple projects
Desired Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Strategic thinking skills and ability to align digital initiatives with business goals
- Risk assessment and management skills, including evaluating risk and identifying controls.
- Experience in the development of products and/or policy throughout the lifecycle, including consideration of operational impacts and implementation
- Problem solving skills, including identifying problems, developing and evaluating options, and implementing solutions.
- Ability to manage relationships, including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, and building relationship networks
- Presentation skills, including leading policy discussion forums for internal and external groups.
- Experience building, maintaining, and analyzing reports and developing workflows

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
