Senior DevOps Engineer - Leeds UK (Hybrid)

Our Casino team are predominantly based in Leeds/Yorkshire and therefore we are looking for our next team mate to be within a commutable distance from Leeds to allow for in person collaboration which we anticipate will be 1-2 times a month. There will also be quarterly meet ups in our office in Edinburgh.

THE ROLE

We're looking for two passionate & experienced technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidates will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to both learn from and educate others. In the role of DevOps Engineer working for our Casino vertical, you will work amongst multidisciplinary teams, tackling complex problems to create world class products and experiences as we continuously build out our exciting and innovative customer experience within the fast paced and growing Casino environment. You will thrive on the technological advancement of the team and will always work towards its improvement. We have two roles available at both a mid and senior level, so please consider applying even if you don't satisfy every qualification on the list.

Everyone on our team has a role to play, on a daily basis, you'll be involved in the following -

  • Develop infrastructure through reusable code with automated tooling and tests.
  • Ensure services are monitored effectively using application and system metrics.
  • Understand the complexities of working with multi-tier applications and scaling of distributed systems across data centres and cloud.
  • Design architecture with security in mind.
  • Own the delivery of new features and tooling for both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Support engineers in accomplishing their daily work, including building CI/CD pipelines (we use Buildkite), writing Terraform modules or Helm chart, providing advice in application design.
  • Focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions.
  • Most importantly, you are; humble, pragmatic, self-managed, thirsty for knowledge, never satisfied and always challenging the norm.

What we're looking for in our next team mate -

  • Extensive experience working with AWS - everything from IAM, Lambda, Cloudfront, RDS and DynamoDB.
  • Proficient in the use of Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, Terraform
  • Coding ability in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Node.JS or Java.
  • Use of a monitoring platform (we use Datadog) for application observability Familiar with Git and GitHub
  • Being comfortable authoring documentation and sharing with your peers
